Your privacy
Short version: we don't know who you are, and we can't see what you search.
Your searches never leave your device
Most websites send what you type to a server, which is how they end up with a record of it. TeenWell doesn't work that way.
When you first tap the search box, your browser downloads the entire search engine: the whole list of resources and the AI model that understands your question. After that, everything happens inside your browser, on your phone or laptop.
Your question is never sent anywhere. Not to us, not to anyone. There's no server that could log it, because there's no server involved at all.
What we don't do
- ❌ No accounts. There's nothing to sign up for.
- ❌ No cookies.
- ❌ No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising networks.
- ❌ No search history: not on our side, and not stored on yours.
- ❌ We never sell or share anything, because we don't have anything.
What is stored on your device
Two small things, and only in this browser:
- Lesson checkmarks, if you mark a lesson done. Anyone else using this device could see them.
- Light or dark mode, if you change it.
Both are erased when you clear your browser data or when you use Quick exit. The button on the curriculum page erases the lesson checkmarks.
Quick exit, and its limits
The Quick exit button, or pressing Esc three times, immediately sends you to a weather site and removes this page from your Back button.
Be careful: here's what it can't do.
It can't erase browsing history that already exists. A website can't reach into your browser's history and delete things. If someone checks your history, earlier visits could still be there.
If your browser blocks scripts, the button still takes you to the weather site, but this page stays in your Back button.
If you need to be sure, use a private or incognito window, and close it when you're done. We'd rather tell you this than let you rely on something that doesn't fully work.
When you click a link
Every result takes you to another organization's website: Planned Parenthood, the CDC, and so on. Once you're there, you're on their site and their privacy policy applies.
We do set one thing in your favor: those sites are not told that you came from TeenWell. They just see a visitor.
Phone calls and texts
Crisis lines are confidential, but a call or text may show up on a phone bill. If that's a risk for you, the chat options on the help page don't create a call record.
Who's hosting this
The site is hosted by Vercel, which, like every web host, processes basic connection information such as IP addresses in order to send you the page. We don't add any tracking on top of that, and we don't receive or keep those logs ourselves.
